Welcome to the Honeyhill Organic Farm blog

2/6/2009 3:30pm by Fred Forsburg

It may be cold and wintry outside, but we're still hard at work at Honeyhill Farm. Our website is undergoing some renovations and will be all spruced up by the time spring comes to the Finger Lakes region.

Add our blog to your RSS reader and stay tuned into the goings on at the farm. Rumor has it that our dog, Riggins, might make an appearance or two, as well.

I just wanted to tell garlic growers about a good use for the bulbils that form on a mature scape (in case you miss some). They come out of the "pod" easily, I use them in pickles... just smash a handful of them with a broad knife, no need to peel, and add to the pickling spice. Easier and cleaner too since they never touch soil.
